Reading an Escort route

Three things to look for before the next checkpoint. Select a point on the illustration.

The balcony

Use the balcony without losing the team.

High ground is useful when it offers cover and a route back to the same fight. Check where your teammates can still help before staying for another exchange.

Look for cover, a clear view and an exit.

The corner

Keep the corner within reach.

Find the next place where you can break an enemy sightline. A short move behind a wall can preserve an ability for the moment when cover is no longer enough.

Keep friendly sightlines in mind as well.

The return route

Check where the passage comes out.

A passage can give you an angle without a long exposure. Notice when it has taken you too far from the team and leave while the way back is still open.

The useful route returns to the same fight.

Tank

Connect the team to the space it needs. A shield cannot repair a split approach.

The replay notebook

Ask one thing of the replay.

You do not have to review every second. Choose the question that fits the fight you remember.

01Where did the first useful position disappear?

Pause before the first elimination. Find the moment a player lost cover or moved beyond friendly sightlines. That decision may tell you more than the final few seconds of the fight.

02Which ability was no longer available?

Look at the action before the threat arrived. Was an escape or a defensive tool spent without a clear reason? Follow the decision instead of judging only the missed shot.

03Who could actually follow the attempt?

Notice the teammates who were alive, nearby and looking at the same part of the map. A plan that depended on a player returning from spawn was not ready to begin.

04What could you repeat next time?

Choose one adjustment you can notice in a normal match: a shorter exposure, a different corner or an earlier regroup. Keep the conclusion small enough to practise.

Check the live kit before blaming a remembered balance number.
